Gambia

One of Africa’s smallest countries, Gambia gained independence from British colonial rule on February 18, 1965. Currently led by President Adama Barrow, the West African nation has an estimated population of 1.8 million people spread across a total land area of 10,689 km². As of 2018, Gambia recorded a GDP of $5.28billion, with its top exports Coconuts, Brazil Nuts, Cashews, Rough Wood, and Non-fillet Frozen Fish, sold to trading partners that include India, China, South Korea, and Senegal. The Gambian administrative capital is located in Banjul, and its official currency is the Dalasi (GMD).
