PPR Control & Eradication

PPR Control & Eradication (2019)

Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR), also known as sheep and goat plague, is a virulent, highly contagious transboundary animal diseases known to infect other ruminant animals such as cattle, camels, domestic buffaloes, and wild ruminants. Common across Africa and known for its serious repercussions on food security and animal production opportunities especially in the livestock farming sub-sector, the RAHC through funding from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) carried out the PPR Control & Eradication programme to control and eradicate PPR in small ruminants in three (3) ECOWAS countries of Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone through mass vaccination, training and equipment support.
